Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chops Thick-cut Bone-in Pork Chops (Can substitute boneless if preferred.)
  • 2 tablespoons Neutral Cooking Oil (Options include vegetable, canola, or grapeseed oil.)
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 cups Red Apples (Gala are great for their firm texture.)
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion (Contributes aromatic depth.)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Minced.)
  • 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke (Optional.)
  • 2 tablespoons Coarse Ground Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Honey (Use any mild honey variety.)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (Adjust to your spice preference.)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley (Optional.)

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the pork chops. Coat them in oil and sprinkle with kosher salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat your skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Set aside to rest.
  3. In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and sauté sliced apples and onions for 6-8 minutes until tender and slightly caramelized. Add minced garlic for the last minute.
  4. Stir in apple cider vinegar, liquid smoke (if using), Dijon mustard, honey, and cayenne. Let it simmer and adjust seasoning.
  5. Return the pork chops to the skillet, basting them in the sauce until cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot!
