Ingredients

  • 750 milliliters dry red wine
  • 1 cup apple cider or unfiltered apple juice
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 2 medium oranges
  • 2 medium pears or apples
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • ice
  • 2 (12-ounce) cans chilled ginger beer or ginger ale
  • fresh rosemary sprigs
  • cranberries
  • pomegranate arils

Instructions

  1. Pour the dry red wine, apple cider, pomegranate juice, and brandy into a 2-quart pitcher. Stir gently to combine.
  2. Halve the oranges into 1/4-inch-thick half-moons and slice the pears or apples. Add to the pitcher.
  3. Add the cinnamon sticks and stir everything together. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
  4. To serve, fill wine glasses with ice, pour the sangria three-quarters full, and top with ginger beer or ginger ale.
  5. Garnish with fresh rosemary, cranberries, and pomegranate arils.
