Description

Creamy Garlic Butter Salmon is an elegant and flavorful dish featuring tender salmon fillets cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce. It’s quick to prepare, using simple ingredients, and offers a perfect balance of creamy texture and savory taste, making it suitable for special occasions or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets, skinless
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Carefully place salmon fillets into the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden brown. Remove salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add heavy cream and whisk in Dijon mustard. Stir well to combine.
  6. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 3-4 minutes, stirring regularly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Return salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over the top. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  8. Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped parsley over the salmon fillets.
  9. Plate the salmon, drizzling more sauce over the top. Add lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • This recipe is best prepared with fresh ingredients for optimal flavor.
  • Avoid overcooking the salmon to prevent it from drying out.
  • Consider adding a splash of white wine or red pepper flakes to the sauce for variations.
  • Fresh dill or thyme can be added to complement the dish.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
  • Cooked salmon can be frozen for up to 2 months, wrapped tightly.
