Description

Classic peppermint-twisted holiday cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Red gel food coloring (as needed)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until fully combined.
  6. Divide the dough in half. Color one half with red food coloring, kneading until evenly tinted.
