Black Pepper Cauliflower that Will Wow Your Dinner Guests
Ingredients

- 3 cups Cauliflower florets
- 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Ketchup
- 2 teaspoons Oil
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
- 2–3 tablespoons Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Oil
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1/2 inch Ginger (minced)
- 2 units Dried red chilies
- 1/4 cup Red onion (chopped)
- 3/4 cup Celery (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Maple syrup
- 3/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon White pepper
- 1.5 teaspoons Cornstarch
- 1/2 cup Water
- Green onion (sliced)
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Chop the cauliflower into small to medium florets and add them to a large bowl.
- Combine soy sauce, ketchup, oil, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small bowl. Pour this mixture over the cauliflower and toss to coat well.
- Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cornstarch over the coated cauliflower and toss again until all florets are fully coated.
- Transfer the coated cauliflower to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400ºF (200ºC) for 24-28 minutes.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Add garlic, ginger, and dried red chilies, stirring until fragrant.
- Add the chopped onion, celery, and a pinch of salt. Cook until the onion starts to turn translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Incorporate soy sauce, maple syrup, black pepper, and white pepper. Stir well.
- Mix cornstarch with the 1/2 cup of water and pour this mix into the pan. Stir until it thickens.
- Wait for the sauce to come to a boil and thicken, then switch off the heat.
- Combine the roasted cauliflower with the sauce and toss well to coat.
- Garnish with sliced green onion and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Adjust spice level with more or less dried red chilies.
- Use fresh cauliflower for best texture.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
