Instructions

  1. Boil the Pasta: Start by cooking the fettuccine according to the package instructions. Be sure to reserve a few tablespoons of the starchy pasta water before draining—it’ll help create a creamy sauce.
  2. Sauté the Mushrooms: In a 10-inch skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and chopped garlic, stirring to coat in the buttery goodness. Sprinkle in the kosher salt and let the mushrooms cook for about 10 minutes, until they’re deeply browned and fragrant.
  3. Make the Cream Sauce: Once the mushrooms are perfect, transfer them to a plate. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
