Ingredients

- 1/4 cup Melted butter
- 2 tablespoons Organic cane sugar
- 1 cup Warm milk
- 1 cup Sourdough starter
- 1 teaspoon Sea salt
- 3 cups Bread flour
- Optional Add-ins
- 1 tablespoon Active instant yeast
- 1 large Egg white
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and organic cane sugar. Whisk until creamy and blended.
- Stir in the warm milk, then add the sourdough starter and instant yeast. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine sea salt, bread flour, and any add-ins. Whisk together.
- Fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Knead gently until a smooth, slightly tacky ball forms.
- Cover the bowl with a cloth and rest for 30 minutes.
- Stretch and fold the dough in the bowl, then let it rise for 1 hour.
- Perform the stretch and fold again and let it rest for another hour.
- Optionally, ferment overnight in the fridge.
- On a floured counter, stretch the dough into a rectangle and cut into 12 squares.
- Line a baking pan with parchment and sprinkle flour. Form rolls from squares.
- Let rolls rise for 1-2 hours at room temperature until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Brush rolls with egg wash.
- Bake for 15 minutes, rotate, then bake for another 15 minutes.
- Optionally brush with melted butter after baking.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
