Description

Irresistible Snickers Cake with Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 cup Dutch Process Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Canola or Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1 cup Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Hot Water
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 5 pieces Fun Size Snickers

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray an 8-inch round cake pan with cooking spray and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the canola oil, sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, sour cream, and buttermilk. Slowly incorporate the hot water.
  4. Gently add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and whisk just until combined. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 38-43 minutes.
  5. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. For the caramel, melt sugar in a saucepan until amber, then stir in butter and heavy cream.
  6. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and peanut butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and then heavy cream until smooth.
  7. Once the cake has cooled, level it, poke holes in the top, drizzle caramel, frost with peanut butter frosting, and decorate with Snickers.

Notes

  • Ensure flour is spooned and leveled.
  • Regular cocoa can substitute for Dutch cocoa.
  • Check freshness of baking powder and soda.
  • Room temperature eggs help combine the batter.
  • Regular milk can substitute for heavy cream.
