Irresistible Shrimp Toast: Your New Favorite Appetizer
Ingredients

- ½ pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon Pork Fat (optional)
- ¼ cup Chopped Cilantro (can substitute with parsley)
- 2 Scallions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
- ¼ teaspoon Sesame Oil
- ½ teaspoon Sugar
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
- 1 Egg White
- 4 slices White Sandwich Bread (alternative: croutons or crusts)
- 2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seeds
- Vegetable Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Blend the Pork Fat: If using, add pork fat to a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Add the Shrimp & Aromatics: Toss in shrimp, cilantro, scallions, ginger, sesame oil, sugar, salt, cornstarch, and egg white. Process until smooth.
- Spread the Mixture: Spread the mixture evenly on each slice of bread.
- Sprinkle with Sesame Seeds: Distribute sesame seeds over the shrimp mixture and press them in.
- Cut the Bread: Cut each slice into quarter triangles diagonally.
- Heat the Oil: Heat ⅛ inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the Toast: Place triangles shrimp-side down in the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another minute.
- Drain & Serve: Transfer fried toast to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve hot.

- Serve with sweet chili sauce or a vinegar-soy sauce mix for dipping.
