Delicious Salted Honey Butter Buttermilk Biscuits that are warm, flaky, and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Cold salted butter (chilled for perfect flaky texture)
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour (the cornerstone for fluffy biscuits)
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar (adds sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder (ensures biscuits rise beautifully)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (enhances flavors)
  • 1 cup Cold buttermilk (creates moist biscuits)
  • 1 large Egg (provides richness and browning)
  • 2 tablespoons Milk or water (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup Salted butter, melted (for brushing)
  • 1/4 cup Honey (adds flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon Flaky sea salt (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar (apple cider vinegar or lemon juice) (to create buttermilk)
  • 1 cup Milk of choice (for added moisture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Grate the cold butter into the dry ingredient mixture and mix until well-coated.
  4. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in half of the cold buttermilk, stirring until very shaggy.
  5. Add the remaining buttermilk and mix until the dough comes together but remains slightly crumbly.
  6. Transfer the mixture onto a floured surface and knead gently to combine.
  7. Knead the dough by folding it 4-6 times while rotating and pressing down.
  8. Roll the dough out into a 1 1/2” thick rectangle and cut into 8 biscuits.
  9. Transfer the biscuits to the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with egg wash.
  10. Bake at 375°F for 35-40 minutes, rotating halfway through.
  11. Mix together the melted butter and honey to create your honey butter.
  12. Remove the biscuits from the oven and brush with honey butter and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  13. Serve warm and enjoy!
