Description
This recipe features tender salmon and succulent shrimp coated in a rich, velvety garlic cream sauce. It’s a quick and impressive seafood dish perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb salmon fillet, skinless and cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Cut the salmon into bite-sized pieces and peel the shrimp if necessary.
- Heat Butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it’s bubbly.
- Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently. Ensure the garlic is fragrant but not burnt.
- Cook Salmon: Add the salmon pieces to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until the salmon is golden and cooked through. Remove it from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the shrimp. Season them with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the shrimp and set them aside with the salmon.
- Make the Sauce: Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and bring it to a simmer. Then, add the heavy cream, stirring until the sauce is smooth. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Combine Seafood: Return the cooked salmon and shrimp to the skillet. Gently fold them into the creamy sauce until evenly coated. Allow them to warm through for an additional 2 minutes.
- Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh parsley for added flavor and color before serving.
- Serve: Serve the Salmon and Shrimp with the creamy garlic sauce over your choice of rice, pasta, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
Notes
- Use fresh seafood for the best flavor.
- Avoid overcooking the salmon and shrimp to maintain their texture.
- Adjust the amount of garlic to your preference.
- Consider adding other herbs like dill or tarragon.
- For a creamier sauce, add grated Parmesan cheese.
