Description

Salisbury steak meatballs are a twist on the classic recipe. Juicy ground beef meatballs are soaked in a flavorful gravy with mushrooms.


Ingredients

  • 16 ounce ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 3 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup parsley (fresh & chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 ounce mushroom (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1.5 cup beef broth
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients for the meatballs. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Roll the meatballs by hand.
  3. In a pan on medium high heat, add oil and sear the meatballs on 1-2 sides. Remove from the pan.
  4. Add mushrooms to the pan. Allow the water to release and sear until browning.
  5. Lower heat to medium, add butter. Once melted, add flour and stir for about 1 minute with mushrooms.
  6. Add Dijon mustard, then pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and beef bouillon cube. Simmer and thicken while stirring. Taste and adjust salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Add meatballs back in, lower heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer until fully cooked through.
  8. Turn off the heat and serve.

Notes

  • For best results, let the meatball mixture rest before forming.
  • Adjust seasonings to your taste.
