- 1 box super moist yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can canned pumpkin
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the bottom and sides of a 13×9 inch baking pan.
- Combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, sour cream, canned pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice in a large bowl. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until well incorporated.
- Pour 2 cups of the prepared batter into the bottom of the greased pan.
- Mix the chopped walnuts and brown sugar in a small bowl until well combined. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the layer of cake batter.
- Add the rest of the batter over the walnut and sugar filling. Smooth it across using a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool on a cooling rack.
- Prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake using a spatula, covering the entire surface.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving.
