Ingredients

  • 1 box super moist yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can canned pumpkin
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the bottom and sides of a 13×9 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, sour cream, canned pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice in a large bowl. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until well incorporated.
  3. Pour 2 cups of the prepared batter into the bottom of the greased pan.
  4. Mix the chopped walnuts and brown sugar in a small bowl until well combined. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the layer of cake batter.
  5. Add the rest of the batter over the walnut and sugar filling. Smooth it across using a spatula.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool on a cooling rack.
  7. Prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake using a spatula, covering the entire surface.
  9. Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving.
