  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 4 large Portobello mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the marinade in a baking dish: Combine balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, low sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, ground cumin, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.
  2. Coat the mushrooms: Add the portobello mushrooms into the dish, using a brush to evenly coat each mushroom with the marinade on all sides.
  3. Let them marinate: Allow the mushrooms to sit in the marinade for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill: Set a grill pan or large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook the mushrooms: Place the marinated mushrooms onto the hot grill or skillet and cook for approximately 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
