Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the chicken by drying and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Set up three shallow dishes for flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then in eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Transfer skillet to oven and bake chicken for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked and juices run clear.
  7. Remove from oven, add marinara sauce, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake again for an additional 10 minutes until cheese melts and bubbles.
