- 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the chicken by drying and seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Set up three shallow dishes for flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumb mixture.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then in eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Transfer skillet to oven and bake chicken for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked and juices run clear.
- Remove from oven, add marinara sauce, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake again for an additional 10 minutes until cheese melts and bubbles.
