Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground ginger

- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup raw honey
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- Zest of 2 oranges
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp honey (for glaze, optional)
- 2 tbsp orange juice (for glaze, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, honey, and eggs. Stir in orange juice, orange zest, and grated ginger.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Optional: While the cake is still warm, brush it with a glaze made from 2 tbsp honey and 2 tbsp orange juice.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
