Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1 box (510g) yellow cake mix
- 115g butter, room temperature
- 1 large egg
- Gooey Filling:
- 225g cream cheese, room temperature
- 450g powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Coat a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Combine cake mix, butter, and egg with a fork until fully incorporated. The mixture will be dry and crumbly. Press firmly into the prepared pan, covering the bottom and slightly up the sides.
- Reserve ¼ cup of powdered sugar for topping. Beat cream cheese until smooth, then add eggs and vanilla. Gradually incorporate the remaining powdered sugar until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
- Pour the gooey filling mixture evenly over the crust in the pan.
- Bake at 325°F for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is set at the edges but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then dust with the reserved powdered sugar. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
