Description
Mozzarella-Stuffed Pretzel Bites are warm, gooey cheese-filled snacks perfect for game day gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb pizza dough
- all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 8 sticks mozzarella cheese (halved)
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- pretzel or flaky sea salt
- marinara sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. In a large pot, mix 10 cups of water with 1/4 cup baking soda. Bring to a hearty boil over high heat.
- Lightly flour your work surface. Roll out the pizza dough into a 15″ x 12″ rectangle. Divide the dough into 12 equal rectangles.
- Place half of a frozen mozzarella cheese stick in the center of each rectangle. Carefully wrap the dough around the cheese, crimping and pressing down firmly to seal it inside.
- In batches, gently lower the stuffed dough into the boiling water. Cook for about 30 seconds until they float. Transfer them to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Brush each pretzel bite with the beaten egg and sprinkle with pretzel or flaky sea salt. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Arrange your pretzel bites on a platter. Serve them warm alongside a bowl of marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Use fresh mozzarella for best results.
- Adjust baking time based on your oven.
- Experiment with different dipping sauces.
