Description
Mozzarella Sticks are a delicious snack or appetizer. They are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Perfect for dipping in marinara sauce.

- 12 ounces mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups breadcrumbs (preferably Italian style)
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Cut the mozzarella sticks in half if desired.
- In three shallow bowls, set up your breading stations.
- Bowl 1: Combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Bowl 2: Beat the eggs until well-combined.
- Bowl 3: Place the breadcrumbs.
- Dip each mozzarella stick in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Next, dip the floured cheese stick into the beaten eggs.
- Finally, roll the egg-coated mozzarella stick in the breadcrumbs.
- Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes.
- In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add a few mozzarella sticks at a time into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Transfer the mozzarella sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

- Freezing the sticks helps maintain their shape during frying.
- Adjust frying time based on your equipment.
- Try adding herbs to the breadcrumb mixture for extra flavor.
