Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Lemon zest from 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  2. Wash the broccoli florets and pat them dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the dry broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using), ensuring each floret is well coated.
  4. Spread the broccoli in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and lemon zest over the partially cooked broccoli.
  6. Place the baking sheet back into the oven and continue to roast for another 10 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender-crisp and the edges are golden brown.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
