- 1/2 cup Sriracha sauce
- 1/3 cup Honey
- 1/4 cup Low sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons White vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Lime juice
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon Dried basil
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
- 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
- 2 pieces Lime wedges
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray and set it aside for the chicken to rest in later.
- Mix the sauce by combining the sriracha sauce, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, lime juice, and minced garlic in a small mixing bowl; whisk until smooth and well blended. Set the sauce aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, thyme, and basil. Add them to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, just until they turn a lovely golden brown.
- Transfer the browned chicken breasts into the prepared baking dish. Pour the flavorful honey-sriracha sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is generously coated. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue to bake for another 15 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked through. Use an Instant Read Meat Thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Spoon out about 3 tablespoons of the sauce into a small cup. Whisk the cornstarch into the cup until smooth, then stir this slurry back into the baking dish. Place the chicken back in the oven and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
- Rest the honey sriracha chicken for 5 minutes after removing it from the oven. Spoon the luscious sauce over the top, garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds, and serve with lime wedges.
