  • 1 tablespoon Cajun Seasoning (Adjust to taste)
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion (Finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 cup Uncooked Orzo Pasta
  • 3 cups Low-Sodium Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley (Chopped)

Instructions

  1. Toss the Chicken: In a bowl, coat the diced chicken with Cajun seasoning.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear for 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Cook the Aromatics: Reduce heat, add remaining butter, sauté onion for 3-4 minutes, then garlic for 1 minute.
  4. Toast the Orzo: Stir in dry orzo and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted.
  5. Add the Broth and Seasoning: Pour in chicken broth and remaining Cajun seasoning. Bring to boil, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until orzo is al dente.
  6. Create the Creamy Sauce: Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, smoked paprika, and optional red pepper flakes until smooth.
  7. Combine and Serve: Return chicken to skillet, stir, season to taste, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
