Description
Delicious Gluten Free Vodka Pasta That’ll Wow Your Taste Buds
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces gluten free pasta
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 shallots, diced
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ½ cup tomato paste
- ¼ cup vodka
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅔ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup pasta water
- ⅓ cup grated parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup fresh basil
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the gluten-free pasta according to the package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes. Don’t forget to save ½ cup of pasta water before draining!
- Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the diced shallots and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they turn translucent and fragrant.
- Sauté the minced garlic for an additional minute. Then stir in the tomato paste, cooking for 2 minutes to enhance its flavor and deepen the sauce’s richness.
- Whisk in the vodka and allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes. This helps to cook off the alcohol while still keeping all the delicious flavor of the vodka.
- Season with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Slowly incorporate the heavy cream, then whisk in the reserved pasta water. Lower the heat and mix in the grated parmesan cheese until it’s all glossy and smooth.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce. Toss gently until every strand is beautifully coated. Finally, garnish with fresh basil and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a pop of color.
