Description

Enjoy a satisfying Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwich with juicy, breaded chicken, crisp romaine, tangy Caesar dressing, and melted cheese, all on a toasted bun. This recipe is quick for weeknights and feels like a treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style or Panko)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 sandwich rolls or buns
  • 4 tablespoons Caesar dressing
  • 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 4 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat the chicken: Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat evenly with a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Cook the chicken: Fry the breaded chicken in a skillet with oil over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Alternatively, air fry at 200°C (400°F) for about 15 minutes.
  4. Toast the buns: Lightly toast the sandwich rolls or buns.
  5. Assemble the sandwich: Spread Caesar dressing on the inside of the toasted buns. Layer with chopped romaine lettuce, the crispy chicken, and cheese slices.
  6. Melt the cheese: If desired, briefly toast the assembled sandwich or microwave for a few seconds to melt the cheese.
  7. Serve immediately while the chicken is warm and crispy.

Notes

  • For gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and buns.
  • Consider adding avocado slices for extra richness.
  • Kale or baby spinach can be used instead of romaine.
  • Spicy aioli can be used as an alternative to Caesar dressing.
  • Swap chicken for breaded turkey or crispy fish fillets.
  • Vegetarian option: Use breaded eggplant or portobello mushrooms.
