Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Pork Belly (skin-on)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger (grated)
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Green Onions (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Score the pork belly skin in a crisscross pattern, avoiding the meat.
  3. Season the pork belly generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Sear the pork belly skin-side down until crispy and golden brown (5-7 minutes).
  6. Sear the other sides for a couple of minutes, then transfer to a plate.
  7. Whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water.
  8. Return the pork to the skillet and pour the glaze over it.
  9. Roast in the preheated oven for 1.5-2 hours, basting with the glaze every 30 minutes.
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes.
  11. Slice the pork belly and drizzle with remaining glaze.
  12. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
