  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons Calabrian chili paste (more for extra heat)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 jar marinara sauce (for serving)
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for the final baking stage.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, basil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, Calabrian chili paste, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until just combined and form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. In a large skillet, heat a generous amount of olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Add the meatballs to the skillet in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and pour marinara sauce over them.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
