Description

Crispy, flaky phyllo pastry filled with creamy, salty feta cheese and drizzled with sweet honey, these baked feta bites are an irresistible Greek appetizer. They are quick to make, easy to customize, and perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 78 ounces Feta cheese (block)
  • 1 pack Phyllo pastry
  • 12 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • Honey, to taste
  • Sesame seeds, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat dry the feta cheese and cut it into 12 equal cubes.
  3. Cut phyllo pastry into 4-6 pieces, about the width needed to wrap a feta cube comfortably.
  4. Lay down one sheet of phyllo pastry and brush it lightly with extra virgin olive oil.
  5. Place a feta cube at one edge of the phyllo. Fold the pastry over the feta, then brush the seam with oil.
  6. Roll the feta cube tightly in the phyllo, using more oil as needed to ensure it adheres and becomes crispy. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  7. Arrange the wrapped feta bites on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the phyllo is golden brown and crispy. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  9. Drizzle the warm baked feta bites with honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds just before serving.

Notes

  • Best enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a 375°F (190°C) oven for about 10 minutes to regain crispness.
  • Phyllo pastry can be delicate; if it tears, layer a small piece of another sheet on top and brush with oil.
