Description
Amish cinnamon bread is a delicious quick bread that doesn’t need yeast or kneading. A buttery, cinnamon topping makes this bread a simple dessert to share with family and friends.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (light)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1.75 cup all-purpose flour (219g)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1.5 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoon butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉.
- In two bowls, mix together the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in the next. Combine the dry and wet ingredients. Set aside the ingredients for the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- In a lined loaf pan, add half the batter. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter and use a knife to swirl it a little. Add the remaining batter, then add the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture on top. Swirl the topping with a knife. Pour the melted butter on top without swirling it in.
- Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 50 minutes or until a knife or toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Start checking the bread at the 45 minute mark.
- Once cooked through, remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack until completely cool. Lift it out of the pan, slice, and serve!
Notes
- Ovens may vary in temperature.
